On a uniqueness property of harmonic functions
We investigate the problem of uniqueness for functions u harmonic in a domain Ω and vanishing on some parts of the intersection (not necessarily connected) of Ω with a line m. It turns out that for some configurations u must vanish on the whole intersection of m and Ω, but this is not always the case. Generalizations to solutions of more general analytic elliptic equations are discussed as well.
متن کاملUniqueness of ∞-harmonic Functions and the Eikonal Equation
Comparison results are obtained between infinity subharmonic and infinity superharmonic functions defined on unbounded domains. The primary new tool employed is an approximation of infinity subharmonic functions that allows one to assume that gradients are bounded away from zero. This approximation also demystifies the proof in the case of a bounded domain. A second, quite different, topic is a...
متن کاملTangential Convergence of Bounded Harmonic Functions on Generalized Siegel Domains
Suppose u(x, y) is a bounded harmonic function on the upper half plane such that lim x→∞ u(x, yo) = a for some yo > 0. Then one can prove that lim x→∞ u(x, y) = a for any other positive y. In this paper, we shall consider the algebra of radial integrable functions on the H-type groups and obtain a similar result for the bounded harmonic functions on generalized Siegel domain.

We give conditions under which the space of bounded harmonic functions on a Riemannian manifold M is naturally isomorphic to the space of bounded harmonic functions of a Markov chain on a discrete net X M arising from a discretization procedure for the pair (M; X). If, further, M is a regular covering manifold and the net is invariant with respect to the deck transformation group, then the entr...

We prove that if f : Zd → R is harmonic and there exists a polynomial W : Zd → R such that f + W is nonnegative, then f is a polynomial.
